Field Visit, Part One!
We kicked off our field visit to Kutch with an exciting meeting with our partner Dr. Acharya, Faculty of Sustainable Environment and Climate Change, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. He once again committed his full support to the project, but more importantly, gave us some very crucial insights into the region, its people and culture.
He shared stories of resilience of the local communities post-earthquake, told us more about the ‘climate-nomads‘, evolving weather patterns, the area’s immense bio-diversity and pointed us to different agro-ecological maps and architectural innovations.
Jon visited them again as an external jury member for the Faculty’s final studio projects, to be able to understand better how we can collaborate with his students. And finally, we are about to set off, on a long bus journey to Kutch. First stop: Bhuj and the Gujarat Institute for Desert Ecology. More updates as we share with our entire team.
